I had my last appointment with Doctor Bass today. Sniff! I've been seeing him for over 26 years! He was so sweet and grandfatherly. I will really miss him.
I had my yucky physical and was glad to not have the ob-gyn stuff done, but I got the usual finger up the butt tap. I thought only guy got that. Ah, well.
I had my Lexapro renewed, which will help with the move and he went over my blood work, which all came out super. so I am one healthy girl!

Video Tour
OMG!
Well, I have to admit, the house is pretty darn clean. I've swept, polished, dusted, vacuumed, mopped and shined every square inch for the video crew. I remember when we had Violet clean for us, and as much as I liked her, I don't want to have to chat with her as she cleans for an hour. I am really relying on mom's help to babysit while I clean, pack and organize.
It's nice that we have a 12 year old from up the street to babysit Tyoma for a few hours every now and then. It's odd, though, she brings movies over to watch. Tyoma likes the weather channel and that's about it. He won't sit still for TV, not that I blame him. It's loud, too bright and riotous. Heh. I grew up with Chuck Jones, so I should talk! I guess I should say it's a bit much for a toddler!
Anyway, I keep out of the crew's way while they film. I feel crazy anxious about how it will turn out, but I guess I'd be crazy anxious over making toast, too!

House Sale
You would not believe how difficult it is for me to open up our house for sale, but today it is officially on the market.
I feel freaked out because the idea of having people come into our home and look at our furniture and, well, stuff, is freaky. But we must. i don't want our home to languish on the market for months and I hope that the fellow who sold us the house can help us dispatch it quickly.
We are fortunate that Papa Sasha helped us out so we don't have to pay monthly rental at this time, but we have kept records and will be paying back rent as soon as we can get back on our feet.
Our Realtor will be sending a crew here to film our place for an online tour. This multiplied my freak out factor by twenty. I am so particular about my home, so house proud that I don't know if I can cope with the anxiety of the filming or visits.
Well, seriously, you won't have to lock me up, I'm just sayin'.

Well Visit
Today we caught up with our pediatrician before the move. Since she was unable to make our November visit, this will serve as our 18 month well-visit. I expressed my concernes over Tyoma not speaking very much. But she said about four words is okay for now.
He has spoken many words, but he seems to loose them--he used to say “mama,” “boo-ah” (papa), and “gaa-a” (our dog) frequently, but these words vanished. Other words have appeared, "aaah" for apple, and other little phonemes for food or favorite activities, but nothing seems to stick. He gets what he wants by pointing and fussing.
Our pediatrician reminded me that children in dual language households often talk later. She had mentioned this earlier, but I forgot. She also stated that at 18-19 months Tyoma would have a developmental “language explosion” and everything would level out—he would learn a few new words every day. She said that some children do loose “mama” and “papa” at this age but it will return soon--don’t worry until closer to his two year well visit.
Tyoma liked the visit, especially since there were no shots. He kept pawing at Dr. Settles hair. I think long brown hair in an oddity to him. I worry about finding another doctor in NH. I won't know anyone! It's so nice to have someone you trust to connnect with.

OMG! New (Used) Car!!!!
Yes we bought a new car today, a 2003 Toyota Highlander. We named him "Smokey Joe" after the person who smoked 10,000 cigarettes in him before we bought him and Shingo Yamamoto, from Ninja Warrior fame. God, I love that program! Yay!

Month O' Lists
I can't keep up with all the lists I have been making, they will likely fill a few spiral bound note-books! there is so much to do!
In a way, it is so liberating to feel the importance of the move and upcoming change in our lives. The lists I am making are so pragmatic and functional, without uncertainty. I love having schedules and lists, knowing when things are supposed to happen and just how I am going to get through them. This is so much better than the endless unknown that we have been coping with these past five years.
Ah, regularity! I embrace you! How nice to not be compelled to google horrible pregnancy scenarios or endless job searches. Life is packing up boxes, taping, them and putting on lables. Sweet!

Car Hunt
We are now hunting in earnest for a new car. Our plan is to pick up one car here and one car there. The NM car will likely be mine and we will pick up something newer for E in NH. Last Saturday, we packed up Tyoma and went to the Toyota lot, where E wanted to look around. He squirmed and it was hard to look around. Mom is sitting for us today.
This week Egor found a used 2003 Highlander in great shape. All his research says that this would be the perfect purchase, but I am very sceptical. The car we looked wonderful, but it positively stank.
The former owners were smokers and the deodorizer they used to remove the smell makes my eyes water. I want a newer RAV4, but E said it's not such a good deal. I hate strong smells, and the idea of my car reeking of chemicals is a major deal breaker for me. But, after several phone calls to the dealer, e assured me that the car will air out fine. There were some tears, but a deal was made. E promises that this will be his car if I can't adjust to the smell. I also insisted on seat replacements for the cigarette-burned passenger side and Toyota even threw in new tires. Phew. Off to google car de-deodorizes!
