Roots

Still got da flu. Canceled my much needed hair appointment with Rodeo. My bangs will be down to my arse by the time I get over this flu!

I feel so tired and wiped out, it's almost unnatural. Baby is doing fine, looking cuter than cute and mom has been a fantastic help.

Baby Shots

Tennisfiend went with me for Tyoma's six month shots. Everything went smoother than last time when I had the crying/puking spectacle. Actually I was more worried about me doing the crying/puking thing, since my flu lingers. Thank heavens that Mom will be over to help tomorrow so I can get some more rest.

BTW, I can feed Monster Baby lots more solids. A good idea since my boobs are getting tuckered out (off no bf meds).

Da Flu

Headache worse, feelin' pukey/achey. Gotta be da flu. I hope little baby is okay. I'm still pumping out buckets of milk for him to drink, even more with the flu to protect him.

I've given up on breast feeding at the breast ans I am purely pumping now. It is demanding and exhausting. To keep my milk up, I wake up twice a night plus I seem to be pumping non-stop for the rest of the day since the breast pump doesn't do as good of a job as a baby.

Chocolate Martini Headache

Went to see my girl Ewbliette tonight. The boys were playing a game based on the movie The House on Haunted Hill  that one of them had developed.

It was pretty cool, each player builds a section of the house as the game progresses. I rattled on about Famke Jansen and old movies, to anyone who would listen, missing my buddy Ger, a fellow movie nerd.

Anyway, Brotherkurt made me a total of  two sinfully delicious chocolate martinis (my limit!) during the evening. I came home with the worst headeache evah. Blah.

Problems at Work

So, we are on a reduced paycheck for the next few months. I knew we had to watch our money and there are certainly expenses with the little one, but this is sounding scary.

It's not the first time that we have had troubles with E's company. But we had to have a little talk to decide what we are going to do. Just how long are we going to stay at a reduced salary? When do we cut our losses and move on? I want answers to all these questions, but E doesn't have them yet.

It seems like someone decided that now E has bought a house and has started a family that we won't leave the company now. We need make some firm decisions and soon.

Flower Pouter

We have very little dinero and a special meal is a treat. V-day was looking especially bleak until Mom came to the rescue with lobster claws from Sam's club and all of the fixin's: crusty French bread, butter, corn and a big ole bottle of Fancy Brut Champagne. I spent the day cleaning up the house and vamping up.  When Tennisfiend came home late, I was certain that he had been out selling newspapers so he could surprise me with a modest bouquet of flowers. For reasons completely unknown to me I was devistated when he came home empty handed.

I get flowers three times a year: Our anniversary, Women's Day and Valentine's Day. I know we don't have the finances for frivolity. I realize TF is under enourmous pressure at work. I understand that we have other priorities now. But some tiny irrational piece or my brain took control and I pouted like a six year old. No flowers for me on Valentine's Day, Whahhh!

For shame! I sucked it up and tried to hide my disappointment, but TF knows me too well. He made up a quick excuse, dashed out and returned with a battered but beautiful bunch of flowers. He gave me a big hug and apologized for being a lug. Heh. I was the real lug.

Thank You Moosh!

Couldn't Help Myself

Sunny Day

I'm feeling a less anxious now, so I'm enjoying some time outside with my little supervisor. Gardening at last seems like a realistic pursuit. I couldn't help but post the full size pic since Tyoma is so adorable!  I seem to have little time or mental energy for long posts, so this will be the blog for now.

Peas!

Yep. I promised myself I'd avoid it, but for now, this is a mommyblog. Anyway, this is a bit backdated as I try to shuffle my life in order. Please enjoy, "Baby's First Peas."

Solids--peas2

He is the sweetest, cutest, cutest little thing! While feeding him in the sunroom he loked just like a baby birdy, opening his mouth for a bite to eat!
